Communities everywhere are facing complex challenges that can’t always be fully explained by traditional data alone. Yet waiting for perfect information often delays the very action communities need most.

In this dynamic one-hour workshop, you’ll hear how a cross-sector team in northwest Missouri chose to move forward with curiosity instead of certainty. Faced with unanswered questions about population decline, they engaged the people who knew the region best — those who stayed, left, returned, and chose to move in — to better understand the story behind the numbers.

Their experience offers an important reminder: meaningful insight often begins with listening.

During this session, you’ll explore how communities can use intentional survey design and community engagement to uncover deeper perspectives, build shared ownership, and create momentum for action.

You’ll walk away with:

  • Strategies to engage differing perspectives and strengthen collaboration
  • Practical ways to move from conversation to measurable progress
  • Tools to capture meaningful insight when traditional data falls short
  • Inspiration to take the next step now, instead of waiting for perfection

At C.O.R.E., we believe communities already hold the wisdom needed to create positive change. The challenge is creating the conditions to listen, learn, and act together.

If you're ready to stop stalling and start making a positive impact in your place, we hope you’ll join us.

Together, we are creating a movement for community resilience and excellence.
